The mobile exhibition tells the story of the Madjarski family of Armenian craftsmen, who made a significant contribution to the cultural development of Belarusian lands in the 18th–19th century. Jan Madjarski was one of the founders of a “persiarnia” manufactory, which focused on the production of kuntush belts.
The mobile exhibition chronologically presents important dates of the family’s history, images of historical characters, places connected with their activities, and artifacts, as well as emphasises the role of Slutsk belts played in Belarusian culture.
“THE MADJARSKIS. AN ARMENIAN FAMILY IN THE HISTORY OF BELARUS” will be presented by Dzianis Liseichykau, Belarusian historian and archivist and one of the book’s authors.
